"laughter through tears...my favorite emotion"
This comedy-drama centers around the friendship of six women who gather at Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana to talk, gossip, needle, criticize, laugh, and cry with each other. There is wise-cracking Truvy, salon owner; her eager new assistant Annelle; Ouiser, the town’s rich curmudgeon; Miss Clairee, an eccentric millionaire with a raging sweet tooth; M’Lynn, the maven of the local social set; and her daughter Shelby, soon to marry a “good ole boy.” Both hilarious and touching, the play lets you share the joy and pain of these “steel magnolias,” who are flowery on the outside but strong as steel on the inside in order to survive the challenges life sends their way.

Nobody Don't Like Yogi
by Tom Lysaght
August 21 - September 5
Directed by Carolanne Steinebach
In this funny one-man show, we meet Yogi Berra as he returns to Yankee’s stadium for the 1999 Old Timers game after a 14 year absence. He arrives early to work on his speech and to visit his old stomping grounds. He reminisces on his team, his friend Casey Stengel, his feud with George Steinbrenner and his family. In this portrait of Berra, we get to enjoy his famously unique malapropisms, while seeing his warmth, humility and wisdom.
