RENT THE MERC PLAYHOUSE
THEATER RENTAL AGREEMENT
Please
see our Schedule of Events page as a first step in determining availability
of the Merc
Playhouse. Next, call Helen @ 997-7529 to confirm before sending your deposit.
Although every effort is made to keep the this information current,
a blank for the date(s) you may want does not guarantee that
that date is open. Reservations
are guaranteed once we receive your signed theater rental agreement
and deposit.
This document is an agreement between The
Merc Playhouse Society and the renter.
Fill out the
form on your computer, print two
copies, sign at the bottom and send them with your
deposit to The Merc.

The rental period starts when the renter's equipment
is loaded into the
Merc.
The renter agrees to pay the following
rates (check one of the following):
- Daily Rates $39.00 per hour, with a 4½ hour minimum. For additional hours beyond 4½
hours in any
24 hour period, the rate is $39.00 per hour to a maximum
of 10 hours, after
which the rate increases to
$49.00 per hour.
- Weekly Rate for one week or 7 continuous
days, the rate is $1000. This includes up to 4 ½
hours
in each
24 hour period. For additional hours beyond 4 ½ hours
in each 24 hour period,
the rate is $39.00 per hour
to a maximum of 10 hours, after which the rate increase
to
$49.00 per hour.
- Non-Profit Group Rate (e.g. Methow Conservancy,
Methow Arts, Pipestone,Cascadia)
$39.00 per hour
with a two hour minimum.
** Note: part of an hour is charged a full hour **
A $39 non-refundable deposit must accompany
this agreement.
Until the agreement and deposit are received, your reservation
cannot be guaranteed.
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OF THE MERC AND THE RENTER
- The renter carries liability insurance
and personal property insurance and holds the Merc
Playhouse
Society and its Board of Directors, singly and/or together,
harmless for damage
to personal property
brought in by the renter.
- The renter assumes responsibility for leaving
the theater premises and theater equipment in
the same
condition it was at the time of rental and assumes liability
for any damage to
equipment to theater
property and/or equipment.
- Extra seating may be brought onto the premises
by the renter, however, the renter agrees to
pay an
additional 10 % of the ticket price to the Merc for any
additional seats brought in.
- The renter is responsible for the operation
of the box office. Through prior arrangement, the
Merc may
be able to supply personnel and assistance during the period
of audience ingress
at a rate of $15 per
hour per person required.
- The Merc Playhouse Society agrees to have
the theater premises ready, clean, with the
bathroom
supplied with paper and soap and in good working order.
- The Merc Playhouse Society agrees to have
the equipment listed on the equipment list on
the premises,
ready for use, and in good working order. (This list should
be attached to this
agreement and initialed by
both parties.) The piano will have been tuned within the
last 6
months. If additional tuning is desired it
will
be done at the expense of the renter.
- The Merc holds the right to sell concessions
on the premises. In special circumstances this
right may
be
transferred to renter but only to non-profit groups and
by prior agreement.Note: alcohol sales are the exclusive right of The Merc Playhouse. Prior arrangements must be made for a hosted bar or a non-hosted bar, and the proper licenses must be obtained by the renter.
Notable exceptions are the
sale of books, audio recordings, and video recordings brought
in
by the renter, for which copyright is
held by the renter. The renter must supply a table for the
sale of these items.
- The rent balance is due before leaving
the premises.
