Volunteer

There are so many ways to help out at The Merc Playhouse! If you're interested in something that's not listed, make sure you reach out — we'd love to hear from you.
Volunteer opportunities for The Merc Playhouse include acting and on-stage roles, as well as directing or stage managing. We also have technical and backstage roles helping out with set building, lighting, and sound; or costuming work, such as designing, creating, or stitching costumes. Backstage also includes helping with scene changes as a stage hand or organizing and supervising props. At the front of house, we can always use help ushering, such as welcoming audience members and helping them to their seats; as well as concessions, selling snacks, drinks, and merchandise during a show. These roles can range from a few hours to ongoing commitments. They can offer valuable experience, as well as opportunities to meet new people and become an important member of our Merc family.
