NOW HIRING
The Merc Playhouse, a cornerstone of the Methow Valley arts scene, is seeking a new Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter. The current Executive Director, Kira Wood-Cramer, is stepping down after a successful tenure, leaving behind a legacy of growth and deeper community engagement.
Under Kira Wood-Cramer’s leadership, The Merc has strengthened its presence in the Methow Valley, expanded partnerships with local schools and arts organizations, and broadened its impact through inclusive and diverse programming. “I’m incredibly proud of how The Merc has evolved over the years,” said Kira Wood-Cramer, who spent much of her childhood on the Merc’s stage. “It has become not just a theater, but a hub for creativity and connection in our community. I’m excited to see how the next leader will build on this foundation, expand our youth programming, and continue fostering collaboration in the arts.”
The new Executive Director will have the opportunity to lead a well-established, high-profile community theater that is already striving to facilitate more collaboration on arts programming throughout the region. The role includes overseeing operations, fundraising, marketing, and community partnerships, as well as working closely with the Board of Directors to shape The Merc’s future.
This part-time position (hours varying with production cycle) offers a salary of $30,000–$35,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit management, fundraising, and arts administration experience, along with a passion for live theater and community engagement.
The Merc Playhouse invites applicants eager to champion theater as a vital part of the Methow Valley’s cultural landscape. To apply, email your cover letter and résumé by March 10, 2025.
